So today I’m going to give you an overview of what to expect from the core experience on NetWorkIt, matching and messaging.
Once you’ve signed up with as us as seen in the previous development update you’ll be taken to the matches screen as show below. We gather your matches based on location, industry and some analysis done on the descriptions you’ve provided. After we find some matches and send them up you’re presented with a navigation system on mobile where you will see one user at a time and by swiping left will get you another potential match and swiping right will send a message to that user letting them know that you are seeking to connect. The navigation is similar on desktop but we add icons to click to replace the swiping motions.
If you choose to swipe right on a users profile you will be taken to your messaging screen. This is the real meat and potatoes of the system. You will not be able to send a message to the user you just swiped on until they accept your request by messaging back. Until then, this connection will be kept under ‘Potential Connections’. ‘Potential Connections’ also contains any users looking to create a new connection with you. ‘Existing Connections’ contains all users you a currently connected with and conversing with. Clicking on ‘show messages’ will reveal all the messages between yourself and that user. You can send a message to a user by simply writing and clicking send message. You can also schedule a meeting with the other user by clicking on the ‘Show Scheduler’ button and filling out the form. You can download this meeting to your local calendar for reference.
That’s it for this update. As always, we would love to hear some feedback on how things are looking/working firstname.lastname@example.org or connect with us on Facebook or Twitter.
